Vehicle Data
Information you manually enter about your vehicles, including fuel costs, maintenance records, insurance and inspection dates, road tax details, mileage, and general ownership costs. This applies to all vehicle types including petrol, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
Receipt and Document Images
When you use our AI-powered receipt scanning feature, images you capture or upload are processed to extract fuel and cost data. Receipt images are processed solely for the purpose of data extraction and are not retained after processing is complete.
Tesla Account Data
For users who connect a Tesla account, we access vehicle telemetry data via the Tesla API, including charging history, energy consumption, range data, and driving statistics. This access requires your explicit authorisation and can be revoked at any time.
Device Permissions
Our app may request access to your device camera for receipt scanning. Camera access is used solely for this purpose and we do not collect or store images beyond the immediate processing described above.
Usage Data
We may collect anonymised data about how you interact with the app to improve our services, including feature usage and performance data. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, to communicate with you, and to enhance your experience with our platform. Specifically:
- Vehicle and cost data is used to generate your ownership reports, cost summaries, and reminders
- Receipt images are processed using automated AI analysis to extract cost and fuel data, then discarded
- Tesla telemetry data is used solely to provide insights and analytics related to your EV usage
- Email address is used to manage your account and send service-related communications
- Anonymised usage data is used to improve app performance and develop new features
We do not use your data for advertising purposes and do not share it with advertisers.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
Tesla API
For users who enable Tesla integration, data is retrieved via the official Tesla API. Your Tesla credentials are never stored by Voltayze — authorisation is handled directly through Tesla’s authentication system.
AI Processing Services
Receipt image processing may involve third-party AI services. Any images submitted for processing are transmitted securely, used solely for data extraction, and not retained or used for any other purpose by those services.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests from public authorities.
5. Data Security
We take data security seriously and implement various
security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized
access, alteration, or disclosure. All user data at rest is encrypted, and
access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to
fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including any legal or
reporting requirements. You may request deletion of your data at any time, and
we will comply unless we are legally obligated to retain it.
